Lucas Valley Chamber Orchestra Returns to Christ Presbyterian Church to present a performance of Great Works by Joseph Haydn and Antonin Dvorak.
Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.
Christ Presbyterian Church in Terra Linda, 620 Del Ganado Rd., San Rafael, CA 94903
Lucas Valley Chamber Orchestra (LVCO) will open the program with Joseph Haydn’s much revered Symphony No. 104, his final symphonic work, often referred to as “The London Symphony.” To complete the program, LVCO will move well into the Romantic Era with Antonin Dvorak’s Opus 39 “Czech Suite,” a five movement work based on Czech folk dances.
Lucas Valley Chamber Orchestra, now in its seventh year performing for the local Marin community, is a self-directed, cooperatively managed orchestra based in Marin’s Lucas Valley. Unusual among community orchestras, LVCO performs without a conductor. The volunteer musicians of LVCO include retired professionals, music teachers and active chamber music enthusiasts who perform with musical ensembles throughout the Bay Area.
The performance is sponsored by Christ Presbyterian Church and LVCO. Admission is open to the public FREE OF CHARGE with donations requested to support Christ Presbyterian Camp Scholarships for children and for adults with developmental disabilities.
